AKB Consulting is owned and operated by Mark Austin.
I am a Cleveland, Ohio native and moved to Alabama in 2006 to attend Auburn University. I graduated from Auburn with a BSBA in Economics in 2008 and completed my MBA at Auburn while working in the Alabama State Department of Finance Executive Planning Office. I moved to the Huntsville area in 2011 to serve as a Staff Accountant and later Controller for a mid-size nuclear engineering firm in Athens. I have since completed a BS in Accounting from Athens State University to qualify for the CPA exam, and am enrolled in the Master of Accountancy program at the University of North Alabama while working on passing the CPA exams. I have a passion for solving problems, optimizing processes, and bringing order to the chaos that can result from a business outgrowing its initial processes (or lack thereof). I specialize in helping new businesses get started, and especially in taking growing businesses to the next level when they outgrow their "Mom-and-Pop" origins. I live in Madison with my wife Cristiane (also an accountant), daughter, and two dogs, Baxter and Luna. My hobbies and interests include Auburn and Browns football, cars, horology, and PC games. |
